Made sure to swatch as this is my first sweater. Used a US5 and I was just a touch under gauge. Used a US 4 and was almost a stitch over gauge.

Talked to Jordana and she said to go with the 5 and knit like I normally do. She also said to try the sweater on as I go, so we’ll see how it goes.

I learned the provisional cast on; I would recommend using the crochet method, as it was much easier than the twist-your-yarn-over-and-under your needle method (I’m sure that’s the technical term). I used this tutorial.

8/25 I’m about 7 rows in and have an extra stitch. Arg! But Jordana said I can just make sure the four sections on the outside have the same number of stitches and the back doesn’t really matter.

Apparently it goes front, sleeve, back, front, sleeve. So if the number of stitches is off in one of those sections, just don’t do one increase in that section. And if it’s in the back, just don’t increase at the edge of one end of the back. YES!!!!

10/19 Jordana saw my WIP and reminded me to try it on as I go. I wasn’t really sure how to do it, but this forum said to string it on some waste yarn, which I did and it fits! Whoot!!

1/20 Hand sewed the bottom seams, sleeve seams and collar seams together. Just got the perfect buttons. I thought about putting bright green buttons but decided on these beautiful mother of pearl ones instead.

1/24 Just finished and am SO excited!! It fits wonderfully and is so soft and cushy :) I’ll wear it tomorrow night to dinner and do a photoshoot next weekend. Pictures to come!!!
