Notes

I thought I remembered the pattern being in the Ravelry database, but I couldn’t find it. The pattern is at JediGurl.com, by Jessical Sewell.

This yarn is very soft and very pretty. It’s more cranberry red than it appears in the pictures. I waited too late in the day to take the photos. I had to edit to lighten them, which makes the dark color appear lighter than it is.

Even though it’s a cheap acrylic yarn, I’d read a lot of good reviews on it. Since I don’t have an LYS, Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart are my only yarn sources unless I order online. I needed to get started on this (had intended to have it ready by Christmas, but didn’t make it), so I bought this.

When I washed the scarf to block it, the dark color bled. I rinsed it several times, even tried setting it with vinegar in the water. It never did stop bleeding. Fortunately, it didn’t affect the color of the contrasting gold yarn.

The pattern was simple. I made my fringe about 10” long. You can see in the pictures that I knit a matching slouch and fingerless mitts to go with it.
