9/22 - I know my start date shows as being two days ago and I -did- start then I just haven’t been on here to update about it. This is a lovely yarn and it has a beautiful sheen and softness to it that is perfect for this project. So far I have only completed the yoke, and then I got a little stuck because the directions for the yoke lace are a little confusing as to where you should start but after studying the pictures I think I have it figured out. I am looking forward to this one!
9/23 - ok so I thought I had it figured out and then looking at my work again I went…HUH!? So after trying little bits this way and that I finally figured out that when it is telling me to work in the remaining loops of Row 3 of the Yoke, it means across the front of the yoke. Haha I don’t know why it took me so long to figure that out but now I have it and I finished the yoke lace last night. Now on to the rose motifs!
9/24 - first rose motif underway. I wonder if it is because I did the Garden Path shawl (my most recent project) solely from the chart or if it is simply because the directions aren’t 100% clear but I am having a hard time following the written directions. It is probably a combination of both…in any case, I am making progress. :) I still love the way the cotton is working up and it’s going to be just lovely when it’s done!
10/6 - put on temporary hold while I work on a shawl for the 10 Shawls in 2010 challenge group…
12/30 - I’m FINALLY working on this again. Aiming to have it done by the beginning of February for her blessing. I finished the second motif last night and am going to start the third one tonight.
1/1 - Now that I am finally back to this I am really getting into the swing of things. It feels good to have the hook and yarn back in my hands.
1/4 - Ok so did Rnds 18 & 19 give anyone else pause? Rnd 18 I did (ch 2, dc in next dc) around because Rnd 20 kept talking about working of the ch 2 in Rnd 18 and as far as I read the directions for that one there weren’t any ch 2 except at the beginning and end of the round. Rnd 19 I crocheted as instructed. I’m actually on Rnd 4 of the skirt ruffle now and that’s been going swimmingly, although it’s taking forever…
1/12 - taking an unwilling break because I’m almost out of yarn…have to get more tomorrow!!
1/29 - it took me until Tuesday of earlier this week to get the yarn, but I finally have it now. I have actually completed the main dress, as of this morning. Now working on the detachable tiers of ruffles. We moved her blessing to the beginning of March so I am on track for my new deadline :) Actually, I probably could have it done by Feb. 6th, but she’s pretty small still (2 months old yesterday!) and I’m afraid the dress would end up wearing her…
2/19 - I have decided I’m only going to make one ruffle. I’m already into my 6th skein and with the cost of cotton rising I won’t be able to afford more skeins to do all three ruffles on the detachable part. That’s alright though, because I’m getting down to the wire here anyway.
3/11 - I got in done in time for her blessing and it looked really nice on her. I will upload pictures of her in it at some point. I didn’t make the slip I just ended up buying a white long-sleeve onesie for her to wear underneath as it is still pretty cold here in ID. I also only did a single tier of the detachable ruffles. All in all, I’m pleased with the end result. :)
