Notes

2/9 - I have been wanting to make this forEVER and when I saw the Shadows on clearance yesterday ($1.49/ball, WOO!) I decided to go for it. The Raspberry picks out the reddish ply in the Shadows very nicely. I’m very excited to finally make this.

2/12 - making progress. I was blocking pieces last night and trying to figure out why they were significantly smaller (I didn’t think I’d crocheted them THAT tightly!) and then I realized I hadn’t added the edging yet. So that is what I’m working on right now. I’m not using all 5 colors the pattern calls for so I am kind of playing with the colors as I go. Things are shaping up nicely :)

2/21 - I got stuck on the sleeve!! Not pattern-wise, the pattern is very clear. I’m simply trying to decide what color combo I want to go with. Gar!

2/24 - got myself unstuck. Finished the first sleeve, started the second one. I like the rhythm of this shell pattern…it’s soothing.

2/27 - Both sleeves are now done, as is the bodice and the bodice insert. I am going to attempt a little more waist shaping than the pattern calls for, simply because I don’t look the best in an empire waist. We’ll see how it goes.

3/5 - set this aside for the time being, because a) I was going to run out of yarn and b) I got started on a few other things. I got another skein of Dark Sage yesterday, and should be picking this up again soon…

3/8 - got the peplum started today, about 18 rows into it. I have been trying it on as I go, so that I can try to modify it to have more waist-shaping…only time will really tell. That and perhaps steam blocking.

3/10 - just have a few rows of the peplum left. I may have to go out and buy yet another skein of Dark Sage…yikes!

3/12 - I just made it!! I didn’t have to purchase another skein of Dark Sage. I’m very pleased with the result. The waist shaping I tried out worked really well - basically all I did was add 4 more rows before the increase rows in the peplum section. It gave me the added length so that now it falls straight to just above my hips, and then flares out. It’s a much more pleasing silhouette.

3/17 - and pictures are up. I’ll post some of me wearing it soon.
