In the last week of the Garden of Unearthly Delights challenge of the ifff group we were challenged to make a flower which resembles clothes…. I used a picture of a flying duck orchid for inspiration. So my flower is also a bird, so we call it a flird….
The wings are like a trouser, the body is a skirt…. the head could be a hat….
The candle holder is transformed into a tree with a nest for this Flird! I did this by wrapping yarn around the branches of the tree.
I knitted the flird and I also knitted most of the green at the bottom. From eyelash yarn I crocheted some “grasses”. I also have knotted some eyelash yarn in the tree. The rest of the eyelash yarn I have used for the nest, just binding it together.
