In April 2016 the challenge of the International Free Form forum is a Free-Form Enhancement Exercise.
For this exercise I have chosen some clothes I want to refashion….. But probably I will not finish this in April…..
The sweater is too short…. I want to add some length to it with freeform.
The jacket was white before it was dyed. The stitching is still white….. I want to cover part of the stitching and add some freeform to it.
I added a blouse….. I like the small part of lace in it, but the color (just one color) is too boring for me. I found a butterfly I had made a really long time ago, so that is the first thing to attach to it. I also have to make the blouse a bit smaller. I will do that with some pleats.
I started the work at the jacket with knitting a really long strap….. Have attached it to the underside and front. With a knitting fork I made some cords for the sleeves. This way I try to cover most of the white stitching.
With a Lucet I make some scrumbles. I have written a tutorial for making mesh with a Lucet. You can find it at this page of my website.
I also make some flowers, using a book of 100 flowers…..
April 24: The jacket is finished now.
April 26: Combining the butterfly with crocheted flowers did not work - so I found another place for the butterfly.
June 26: The sweater became a little dress….. I have used a lot of hairpin lace and sprang for this one, but I also used some knitting and crochet (also using bullions and the lover’s knot).
July 4: I finished the last one in this series. This one is a brown summer blouse, which was a bit boring…. I used Margaretenspitze, crochet, lucetting and transformed a knitted paisley into a flower. I also added a small piece of tatting.
