The way this sprang fungus evolved is strange….
I had no intention to make a fungus…. In fact this was another experiment in sprang. I wanted to try tubular sprang, the way Peter Collingwood described in his book.
I had to try very hard and there were many times I had to start all over again… So I decided first to try a very small tube. That succeeded. Then back to this one, a bit larger with 48 threads. It seemed everything was OK in the end and I was very proud. But then I discovered that the bottom part was not open, while the upper part was open…..I did not understand how it was possible. Now I have some idea how this could happen, but I have to try another one to see if it is as I think it is.

So I had a tube, which was not exactly a tube…. I started playing with it.
Now you have to know that at the International Free Form Forum there is a CKAL about fungi. I did not join until now, but I am following it…. So how strange…. I suddenly saw a fungus in my sprang! So after modeling
, I did some finishing touches, making 2 other little sprangs and adding a little embroidery.
