Notes

And so the Shelter/Brooklyn Tweed infatuation continues…….

Tips:

For those of us who are afraid that our provisional cast-on stitches might unravel and disappear into a black hole at the end of knitting the entire shawl, I suggest the following:

Finish it off and do kitchener stitch once you have done the amount of knitting shown in picture 5 above. Then you can relax throughout the rest of the shawl (which is really quite quick and easy after that!).

I used Judy’s surprisingly stretchy bind-off, as I didn’t feel like doing the sewn bind-off for such a large amount of stitches - video here: link text

Blurb:

Second time I used shelter (click here to read about my first adventure: link text ) and this time the yarn was much softer and less likely to break. It really benefits from a good soak and blocking wires at the top edge (just gently place pins for the rest of the shawl to highlight the gentle ‘waves’ down the front of the shawl). The smell of this yarn is addictive (as are the colours).

Love this shawl and am already considering knitting another one! It will get sooo much wear.
