I ended up repeating R27 so as to have fewer stitches at the top hole.

Not my favorite stitch pattern, as I find it a bit difficult to insert my hook into that small ch-1 spaces. But it does make a nice pattern. Also even though I made the teen/small adult size, it fits me just fine.
