I got my pattern from https://lacycrochet.blogspot.com/2013/05/lacy-stitch-baby... where the R6 is differently worded. In this version (the version I used), the designer uses the term “space” to mean any stitch, including the ch-1 spaces. In R6, it got kind of confusing when she said “skip 4 spaces” when, in fact, she meant skip 4 stitches (including dc’s & ch-1 spaces).
In a couple other rounds (R10 & R12), she used the term “space” to mean dc. So anyone who makes this hat, keep this in mind when you get to these rounds.
Other than that, it’s a very nice pattern.

The version that is linked from her Ravelry pattern to here (http://lacycrochet.blogspot.com/2013/05/lacy-stitch-newbo...) has an incorrect R5, but the R6 wording has been improved to be clearer.
