I’m making these for my daughter to give as gifts at her wine tastings (http://www.winedowntastings.com/). This page shows the “sparkly” ones and I created 2 new project pages for the ones done in regular worsted weight yarn here and here.

A couple of these have Boa or Fun Fur as a trim on the top.

Most of them use around 1 oz of yarn for the bag and 0.1 oz for the tie. The ones made with Bernat Ice Christmas (#13-18 and #20-23) use a bit more, but I think it’s because the yarn is thicker so it weighs more.

Also, I adjusted the pattern a bit to make it fit better. Instead of rnds 4-10, I did rnds 4-15. Then I did rnd 12 (my rnd 17) twice. I did rnd 13 (my rnd 19, the eyelet round) with a ch2 between the dc’s because otherwise the neck was too tight to get the bottle in. Then on the next row, I did 2 dc’s into each ch2 space to end up with 36 sts. To end, instead of 1 more round, I did 3 more rounds to have a higher top. So I had a total of 23 rounds compared to 14 in the original pattern. If I did a fur trim, I just hdc’d around after the cozy was finished with the yarn doubled. The ties were done with a J hook, doubled yarn, and about 82 chains.
