Not sure if I’m going to keep this one going. If it doesn’t straighten out soon, it’ll be the frog pond for it.

At this point (before doing the border), this blanket came out too wavy, as you can see in the photo thru R25. There was no way I was going to get it to lay flat. Looking back at the one picture on the pattern (a folded blanket that only shows 1/4 of it), I guess maybe that’s how it was supposed to be (duh, it’s in the name of the blanket!), but I didn’t like the way it looked with this yarn so I frogged the whole thing. It would have been very helpful if there had been a photo of the full blanket laying out so I could have seen the waviness and compare it to mine. I thought only the edging was going to be ruffly, not the whole blanket. And the pattern isn’t on Ravelry so I can’t check other projects.

As a side note, I thought this was one of the most poorly written patterns I’ve worked with. As mentioned above, the photo was not helpful at all. The pattern called for 2 different yarns but never said when to change colors (except to use color B for the edging), but the photo, to me, looked like the ombre and solid yarns were changed throughout the blanket. The stitch counts for the rows were rarely correct. (One row said 131 dc on each side when in fact, there were only 88!) The start of the rows made that part stand out like a sore thumb with a ch1 before the actual stitch, usually a dc. The beginnings and ends of each side weren’t symmetrical in some cases; i.e., you skipped a stitch at the end but not at the beginning. And because the rounds started in the middle of a side, I had to calculate myself how to start and end each side. I have way too many pencil notes all over this pattern.
