Finished size: 9” tall x 8.75” across bottom (but it’s fairly stretchy)

I did R1-18 then 1 round sc, then repeated R18. Added a faux pompom with these instructions (the original web page isn’t there anymore):

Round 1: Leave about a 6 inch tail for attaching to a hat later. Ch 5, join with sl st to make a ring. Sc (ch3, sc) 25 times in ring. Join with sl st to first sc.
Round 2: Sl st in first ch-3 space, ch3, 4 dc in same space. 5 dc in each ch-3 space around. Sl st to top of first ch3. Finish off.
When you are finished with this, pull the tail on it and it will close up even more and get rounder. Secure the tail then attach to hat with beginning tail. Makes an interesting ball type thing (kind of like a scrunchy?).
