One of my favorite patterns and yarns. Thought it would be complicated due to the lace and textures stitches, but it is really uncomplicated fast and easy. The fit is perfect as there is a lot of stretch in the stitches. Sleeves fit perfectly to the body. It was fun to knit due to teh way in which it combines lace, stranded, and texturing techniques with embroidery. I can highly recommend this pattern …
The pattern is to the loose side, even if I am a relatively tight knitter. >If you want the cardigan fitted and not loose, select the smaller size if between two sizes. Don’t forget to check gauge …
03/03/13 I have done body and sleeves now. Despite the complicated look, this is an easy pattern and one of the fastest and easiest knits I have done … fast partly due to 4.5 mm needles! My only problem is that front shoulder is much smaller than back shoulder. I am thinking whether it is a fault in the pattern or whether the front should be stretched when sewing it or if I should pick up the top section???? While thinking I am doing the Mille Fleur flowers … they look gorgeous!
09/03discovered I had forgotten decreases at the neckline, problem solved. The cardigan is blocked and sewn together, trims done, flowers done … all I still need it to sew little sequins into the flowers.
Modifications: As I am tall, I have lengthened the body and possibly the sleeves. To balance the look, I have increased the rapports in the lace border from 3 to 4 to get the right balance. I would recommend this in all cardigans above a size small - especially if you are not short. It creates the look in the pattern picture.
