Notes

I did 8 repeats of the lace for the bottom and sleeves of the cardigan - sleeves are 3/4 length.

The red was coming off slightly on my needles so I threw the sweater into a regular wash cycle with like colours and it came out lovely! It also loves to stretchhhhhhhhhhhh when it’s wet so I threw it in the dryer until it was half dry and pulled it back out - this returned the shape of the sweater back to where it wasn’t so stretched. The yarn, although it’s got cashmere, can withstand some gentle washing and drying as long as it’s not on a regular basis.

If you want your colour to remain dark, add a half cup of white vinegar to your wash cycle. This is an old trick used for years - it won’t stop the colour from fading but it does help the colour remain stronger for much longer. If you’re unsure, ask your Mom or Grandma about it - if they grew up in the 60s/70s they know that vinegar is good for everything!

The body lace was curling even after going up 2 needle sizes to BO so I steam blocked it to make it lay flatter - put a tea towel over the sweater edge, iron on tea towel over sweater, release steam from iron and repeat.

I used the US 9 needle for the BO only.

And the sweater is so soft & cozy - I love it!!! The colourway is most accurate in the photos of me not wearing the cardigan…
