7/10/11: I love this sock blank. If I knit the blank like I usually knit blanks I’ll have several inches left over and will lose the colors at one end of the blank.
I don’t want to do that so I’m knitting one sock from one end of the blank and the other sock from the other end of the blank.
The socks will in no way match, but I won’t lose any color combinations.
7/31/11: A beastly hot summer and working too much means little time for knitting. After a six week hiatus I cast on these socks today.
Increase to 68.
Knit a few rows buffer before starting the pattern (a random 3x2, 2x3 ribbing).
8/9/11: The random ribbing was pissing me off so I switched to 3x2 ribbing.
8/14/11: Finished the first foot. 7” total.
8/15/11: Cast on second sock.
8/21/11: Almost finished with the second foot. Only have about 1/2” left.
8/28/11: Both feet are finished and today I knit both 2” heel flaps.
9/4/11: Both heels turned. One gusset picked up.
9/5/11: First gusset is decreased. Decreased to 70 (so the ribbing works). Used regular elongated heel flap.
10/2/11: I haven’t been documenting or photographing the socks, but progress has been made. The first sock has a 7” (from the flap) leg in 3x2 ribbing. The second sock is well on its way.
12/24/11: Second leg is finished.
12/25/11: I knit both cuffs (1 1/4” 2x2 ribbing) and bound them off.
