A wonderful lace dress and bolero jacket done in a fine 2-ply alpaca/silk blend lace yarn. There is a button closure on each shoulder of the dress and three down the front of the jacket.

This set took MANY hours to complete. The Feather and Fan pattern on the skirt took 100 minutes for each repeat (and there are 20 just in the skirt). Even the bodice has a time-consuming slip stitch pattern.

Washing Instructions: 70% Alpaca, 30% Silk. Hand Wash/Lay Flat to Dry.

Needles:
UK 10 - Use 2.5mm instead
UK 12 - Use 2.0mm instead

Dress:
I made the skirt as one piece instead of three. I’ll deal with the bodice separation when I get there.

Skirt pattern: Each six-row repeat took one hour, forty minutes.

I got 18.5 skirt pattern repeats out of one skein of yarn.

HINTS:
Dress - I did the dress and bodice in one flat piece. Now that I know the pattern, I know I can do it in the round so there would be no skirt seams.

Dress sleeve - When switching to the larger needles, do it on Row 6 (the row you double the stitches). It is too difficult to do the k2tog on stitches that are not only increased two in one, but doing it with a larger needle.
