This hat would have been WAY too big if I shaped the crown as described in the pattern. I decreased every round after the cable pattern was completed instead of decreasing every other round. I wasn’t sure that I would have enough grey yarn, so I blended 2 plies of grey with 1 ink for a couple of rows and 2 plies of ink with 1 ply of grey for a couple of rows before switching to ink. DH kindly modeled the hat.
