Notes

Working toe-up, mirror image socks. I thought I was being clever naming my pomatomus “Salmon,” but 3 other people named their poms that too. Oh, well.

Hopefully Ravelympics will help me get these socks finished. They are so pretty, but have been sadly waiting for my fingers to touch them for about 2 months.

One fits perfectly; the other one has an extra pattern repeat on the foot so it is giant. I plan to do some cutting and sewing and can hopefully save this pair of socks. I’m so sick of them now that I won’t even consider frogging and reknitting or waiting to pick them up again.

08-17-2010 Well, I toughed it out, putting the toe on 2 double pointed needles and then cutting it off, unravelling down to the needles. I moved up one pattern repeat on the foot and put that on double pointed needles as well, cutting off about 1” of fabric and gently tried to undo the stitches until I reached the needles, kind of difficult since I knitted the sock toe-up, so this was undoing sts in the wrong direction, but I got it mostly right. I then grafted the toe to the new end of the sock and while it does not look perfect, it is now wearable. AND it took me less than a year to finally finish this pair of socks. Woo-hoo!
