I got this pattern through a KnitCrate promotion. I love how light and soft this yarn feels, and am really enjoying the color transitions. So far, I’m just building up the size of the shawl little by little. The magic starts to happen at the outside border.

4/3: I just finished the second lace pattern graph and have about 20 rows left. I love how pretty the two yarns are together and can’t wait to pull this off the needles so I can stretch it out.

4/18: I didn’t like how my second lace panel turned out so I ripped it and started over. Much better now. I just started the third lace panel and think there’s a small error in the chart, or I’m reading it wrong (triple checked to make sure my stitch count was good…it was). Basically, add a knit stitch after the border stitches, then delete a knit stitch near the center markers. This ensured that the centers of the scallops all line up.

4/24: Finished! Took a picture over a chair to show how it looks pre-blocked. I always finish stuff late at night and can’t wait for better pics. This weekend, I’m hoping to have time to block this so I can start wearing it. Love this pattern!

4/27: Blocking went well, with only a touch of pink bleeding into the water (no big surprise). I could’ve bound off the stitches a little more loosely, to make the scallops pointier, maybe even going up a needle size or two. I am really happy with this one and can’t wait to wear it.
