My mom wants a blanket from me, and her birthday isn’t until October so I should be able to work on this little by little between now and then. She doesn’t like the Shrimp skein which comes with the pack (she told me it reminds her of the seventies), so I’m subbing in a new skein in Spice, which should arrive soon.
The original pattern calls for 15 colors and 90 stripes. I want to use all 17 colors in the pack (subbing in one orange for another), so in order to maintain the proportions, I’m bumping up the stitch count to 225 and 102 stripes (each color used six times).

It’s blanket season! I’ve added quite a few stripes to this and just finished running through all the colors for a second time. Lookin’ good!

Working on the fourth color run. I am loosely following the color order on Lucy from Attic24’s Granny Stripe blanket. I did ten stripes this weekend (there are 59 total). I can get this done.

I ended up doing 5 of the 6 color runs I originally intended because the blanket got huge and hard to handle. So 85 stripes in total. For the border, I used Aspen, Sherbet, Lipstick, and Meadow. I ran out of Aspen on the last side but had some leftover from my Neat Ripple Coast kit that I used. It just needs a machine wash and then it’s ready to go. Just in time for Christmas!
