I swatched with a different blue that was just a touch too variegated for the pattern, so have frogged that false start and now started two cowls in a semisolid and a more muted variegated. Both yarns are lovely to work with, and my plan is to keep one cowl and save the other for a teacher holiday gift (but which one?).

I tried to knit these “two at a time” on a circular and largely succeeded until I hit the CDD and decided this was method was too masochistic. I plan on alternating between the two. Though they are both DK weight, the BFL is slightly thinner than the Lord of Silk. Both knit up quite nicely on size 7 needles and both are easily stretched over my head, so I’m satisfied with gauge.
