Notes

Katie has taken over my brioche hat so I thought I’d make her a new one. I’m using yarn she picked out last summer while we were in Petoskey: colors I wouldn’t think to put together but work wonderfully for a child.

Welp. We tried this on and it’s too tight. Plus the yarn is stiff and hard to work with. I found similar colors, ironically, in the leftovers from the sweater I just finished. Starting over with the next size up, too.

One pattern repeat done. I think I’ll need three total to get a good length.

Ended up with two pattern repeats and working through round 14 of a third. Brioche is so dense so the hat doesn’t stretch as much as I’m used to with other stitches. It looks so pointy when it’s not stretched out, but it fits her nicely as long as she pulls it down all the way. Most importantly, my daughter loves it.
