I’m super excited to make this blanket! I know how to crochet, but I do it left handed and don’t really know how to follow patterns, so this should be interesting. I just got rid of my comforter that I use at school, so I’m hoping that this can be a substitute.

5/2 I’ve been crocheting like a madwoman the last two days and I’m having so much fun! I never really liked to crochet before, but this is awesome. It’s also going super quickly. I’ve finished all of the granny squares and am starting on the dot squares. Hopefully this will be a relatively quick project.

5/4 This blanket is coming along really quickly. The dot squares are nearly done (6.75/7) and then I’ll go on to the stripes. Hopefully I can keep this pace up.

6/12 I slowed down a bit when work got crazy but I’m working on this again a little more slowly. I’ve finished all of the strips, but I went down a size on the hook and realize that I want it to be bigger. I’m going to add once square onto each motif strip to make it longer plus one extra strip, and hopefully it will be as big as I’d like.

6/30 Finished!!!!!! I’m so excited that it is finished exactly two months after I started. I am madly in love with this blanket. I added a panel of granny stripes, and I had 8 granny squares and flower motifs, and nine circle motifs. It fits (a tiny bit small) on a full size bed. When I started sewing the strips together, there was a lot of puckering and they didn’t match up that well, so I put markers on the edge at every 1/8 section of the blanket, and then matched the sides up together. I also misunderstood the instructions for the border, so I had to make up a corner wedge that I sewed to the sides.
