Notes

Knitting the blocks was so addictive that I was unable to stop before I had 20 of them. In order to keep the project more affordable, I substituted another unplied worsted weight wool, Berroco Peruvia, for the background Noro. The colorway is a softer cream-white than what the photos suggest. The above-listed colorways of Kureyon were only 2 of the 5 or so I used, but unfortunately I have lost track of skein labels and of how many skeins of Kureyon were used: probably around 14 or 15.

I blocked the squares in batches before assembling them and then steamed the seams generously once the whole blanket was finished. In spite of my efforts at keeping everything loose, the i-cord edging feels and looks a bit too tight and corners badly want to turn. Looking back at previous log cabin/garter stitch afghans and blankets, I realize now that I have been happiest with a garter stitch border on a garter st. project, and that my i-cord edgings have worked best on afghans using stockinette or other textured stitches. YMMV…
