Notes

One cannot have too many blankets made out of Noro yarns, which is why I snapped up two bags of discounted Kureyon at the Webs booth at Stitches West. For this umpteenth blanket, I decided to stick to identical mitered squares. I found this great tutorial online; I cast on 61 stitches for each square and worked 7 rows of 5 squares each.

As a veteran of many Noro projects, I know that I am happier when I control the distribution of colors to some degree. Having 2 full bags of the yarn at my disposal allowed me to edit out the odd length of very dark brown that often appears with Kureyon. I also tried to alternate the red-green sections with the blue-orange-cream ones as best I could.

Olive green always works well as a unifying color for Noro blankets; this time was no exception. Plymouth Galway was a good match -- perfect color and “feel”, at the right price.

So happy with this one! It was a pleasure to knit and the finished product is perfectly cozy and comfy.
