It all started when Cauchy09 began posting photographs of a blanket-in-progress on Instagram. I was so thrilled with her project that I began thinking of using a similar principle for my stash of fingering-weight and sock yarns. My Ravelry quest also led me to the Dicke Decke/Big Afghan, from which I borrowed the block pattern. I cast on without a general plan and ended up, very quickly, with 12 blocks. No yarn was purchased for the completion of this blanket, making it a most authentic stash buster. Yarns used were all wool and included Koigu (solid and variegated), various sock yarns and Brown Sheep Nature Spun Fingering-weight. Stripes are between 1 and 4 garter stitch ridge-wide (so, 2 to 8 rows max). I used mostly reds, orange, brown, earthy tones, some light green and only the one teal blue at the end of most blocks and for the border. I’ll probably use my blue/green/purple stash for a similar project.

More details will be posted on my blog. Thank you so much, Cauchy09, for sharing your stunning, always colorful work here and on your blog.
