Notes

My version of Musta Villaa’s version of Cheryl Oberle’s Wool Peddler Shawl. I used about 600 yards (one skein and a half) of Miss Babs’ merino wool, and nearly 2 skeins of shetland fingering weight for the ruffle. The ruffle was knitted following MasonDixonKay’s “recipe”.

Note: Miss Babs’ wonderful merino yarn is hand-dyed, with no dye lot #, and I discovered a big difference in saturation between the two skeins once knitted. It works almost as a stripe here so it is fine, but for a garment like a sweater, I would alternate rows of each skein for a smoother transition, or examine the skeins a bit more carefully, ideally in the light of day…
