Notes

Still somehow a bit messy to start (see my Leaf Lace Shawl Test #1), but I soldiered on. Details as to size: I did just 10 repeats of the lace pattern (rows 31-40), that is, up to row 130 from the start, although the pattern suggests 12 repeats (i.e., to row 150) for a small shawl: I did the math based on Test #2, and based on stretching the thing out as I knit it, and decided to end it where I did. Thus the edging rows were 131-144 for me, and I bound off at row 146.

I added a little round golden bead at each point of the scalloped edging, and am super-pleased with the whole result, gold beads against the deep green lace background.

Yarn usage note: I only needed one skein and a bit---surely far less than 1/4 of the second skein. My first skein ran out at the end of my row 133, otherwise known as the 3rd row of the (14-row) edging. So if I’d worked only 9 repeats of the lace pattern instead of 10, I probably could have kept it to one skein and had a shawl measuring about 62” across the top.
