Notes

Needle size 2 to get gauge.

Hat wayyyy too short - what on earth?! Had to pick outthe CO row all the way to the YOs, then k2,k2tog across, then worked k1,p1 rib over the 96 remaining sts for 4 inches. Hopefully it will look ok with a folded ribbed brim.

My advice - put a lifeline row in the beginning somewhere in case you have the same problem I did. If I were to knit again, I would probably work the “snowflake” part twice… that’s how short I was!

FYI, I really really really don’t like the knitpicks palette fingering yarn. it’s super thick in some areas and really thin (like thread) in other areas, so it’s terrible for stranded color work. I would never purchase this yarn again, though I have used other fingering (stroll) from knit picks before and was pleased.
