This is my first crocheted blanket ever. My best friend wanted me to make it as part of a set for a co-workers baby.

I used different colors from the original pattern. Although I think the original colors are pretty and so fun, it is not what my friend had requested. So I chose these colors to go with the pink & white amigurumi giraffe and embroidered elephant softie, that are also part of the set. And I couldn’t be happier with my choice.

I have a toddler in the house, so I mostly worked on it while he was sleeping. It went slowly at first, which I guess is to be expected, since this was my first blanket, and first time using this pattern. But as I progressed, and memorized the pattern, it went much more quickly. It was also my first time blocking. And I found out that blocking is really easy, just time consuming, and so worth it!

I love the way the blanket turned out. And I hope it is loved by the little girl that gets it.
