Chad LaRAAAR!!! The Hockey Monster is named for Chad LaRose of the Carolina Hurricanes.

9/1/11 He’s still missing his legs, but I’ve heard that’s pretty common among hockey players this time of year. I think I might finish those tomorrow if there’s any life left in my hands. Also missing his name and number on his back. Haven’t decided if I’m going with felt for that (like his mouth) or duplicate stitch…

9/4/11 Still need to knit one leg, but I ruined my hands at work yesterday. Can’t comfortably grip the needles & tension the yarn for magic loop, so I broke out the embroidery needle today and personalized his jersey. :D I am having SO MUCH fun with this. Might have to knit him some teammates. Cam WAAAR!!!d maybe? Eric StAAA!!!l? Perhaps Jeff SkinnAAAR!!! ? Hahahaha I crack myself up.

Added a skate blade to the foot of the one leg I have finished. :D Might have to add laces to the skate too. This is getting out of control. LOL

Second leg complete, except for the skate laces. I’ll need to sew the legs on, of course and then… Chad LaRAAAR!!! Should be ready to go when the post office opens on Tuesday morning! <3

9/5/2011 Today I’ll lace up that last skate and sew Chad’s legs on. And I’ve decided that he really needs a stick, so I’m working on that. LOL Man, I really dislike doing icord, but he MUST HAVE a twig! :)

He’s finished! Hurrah! Not going to mark him truly finished until I have him properly photographed. Chad (and his twig) will be taking a trip to work with my husband tomorrow to be photographed in a professional light booth with a professional camera. Honestly, I’d do it myself at home, but I won’t have good light for the rest of the week. Thanks, Tropical Depression Lee. ;)

9/8/11 - I’ve got one pro photo up now, but there are more coming soon. :) Husband is white-balancing them. He’s an artist, after all! They have to be perfect!

9/10/11 - All finished, and pro pics posted. :) Chad’s already on his way to live with Kennedy, a 9-year-old girl who’s been having a hard time lately. I hope that he brings her some joy! :)
