Trying out US 6 to start. It would be nice to go up a size….

Knitting the leg flat. Will switch to ITR when I finish the intarsia.

CO 66sts with long tail CO (like original), includes a selvedge stitch on each side (unlike original). kkk pp kk …. pp kk ppk. Just 6 rows of ribbing to match the original.

18 rows white (duplicate stitch the name)

Gauge on US 6: 5.5sts/in = 22sts/in

Steamer worked beautifully in flattening out the foot. All over it looked so much nicer with just a few puffs from the steamer. Very happy. After that it was easier to center the names and dates.

not doing intarsia. The original stocking has an upturned mouth and looks cute, not sad. In order to copy that I need to do at least the girls in duplicate stitch so I’ll bite the bullet and do it all in duplicate stitch. Ho hum.
