A perfect shawl for cold and windy days. Larger than in the pattern (because of thicker yarn and a different gauge), but that suited me well this winter.

I chose colors close to the original, and I really enjoy the contrast between glowing orange and icy, calming turquoise.

My goal was to only use yarn from my stash (= Stashburn!),
and I managed it. On the last rounds of Color B and Color C I had to add some different yarn from my stash, but the darker shade of C on the border made a nice effect, I think.

The whole way I used doubled yarn (1 thread wool + thin alpaca).

Color A: turquoise (Nøstebarn silkeull + Holst Titicaca = Pure Thin Alpaca)
Color B: gray/beige (Scotland Highlands Wool + Titicaca)
Color C: orange (Shetland Soft + Titicaca)

Size: mine (original pattern)
284 (220) x 53 (70) cm

Gauge: 14-18 (22) stitches x 20-22 rows = 10 x 10 cm in garter stitch

Bind-off: Skipped the last “picot”-edging (and made a normal bind-off with the last 6 stitches instead) to make the edge of the shawl look smoother.

Blocking: Only blocked the picot-edgings, not the rest of the shawl.
