I am really happy with the vibrant, red colour I got from mixing two types of yarn (but it is difficult to catch this on a photo): I doubled the yarn of Nøstebarn merino (warm red) with Isager Alpaca 2 (red-rust). This made a really beautiful, blushing colour - but also made me, the knitter, blush of embarrassment…:

Even Alpaca 1 is a very thin yarn, adding it made the dress sooooo much bigger than expected: The planned birthday present for a 2 year old turned out to become the christmas gift for someone aged around 6….

And this big size made the yarn disappear before the dress was finished too. Instead of order new supplies, I took what I had in the house: For the last rows of the yoke (“bærestykke”) I used the Alpaca 2 (= wool & alpaca) in the same colour as the thin Alpaca 1. Not bad at all. A completely different colour for the yoke would probably also be nice.

I also knitted less rows than suggested in the pattern, to avoid a too narrow opening for the head (after reading the project comments from GrenDesign)
That is: 110 masks for the bind off.

The dress totally weight: 180 gr.
Nøstebarn: 100 gr (= 1 skein)
combined with Alpaca 1: 71 gr
… and for the last rows: Alpaca 2 alone: 9 gr
