Started with 24” circular needles as per instructions - these were too long. Started again with 18” MUCH better!

12/09 almost done with WVU part

Stranding the colors by weaving as per a knitting book, created bumps in back; watched videos for “catching floats”; learning this technique helped a lot with tension and “bumps” and creates a smoother front and back.

12/11 ripping all the way back to redo the lettering - to many bumps and tension is too tight - trying again!

Redid design to read MOUNTAINEERS rather than WVU, which has more color changes all the way around. This, along with locking floats, helped get rid of a lot of puckering and it looks a lot better. The more I practice, the better I hope to get.

12/12 knit all the way to R46…realized I should have started decreases 20+ rows earlier! Plus, decided I could try again to do the lettering with better tension, so ripped it back to the beginning of the lettering.

12/13 finished lettering redo; looking better :)
12/14 all along I thought I was locking floats, but I was doing something else..not exactly what I thought. Next time around will do it as per kyle’s youtube. But still happy with whatever I did! A learning process:) http://www.kylewilliam.com/blog/locking-floats

12/15 finished - on to blocking Note: use smaller needles next time.
