Notes

Super easy and lovely knit. I knit this scarf to go with an Amanda Hat that I knit as a gift for a friend.

Here’s basically what I did:

Cast on 30 stitches using long tail cast on.

Knit 4 rows (garter stitch).

(RS): S1, k1, follow the Dragon Skin stitch pattern (page 136 of Barbara G. Walker’s Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns), k2.

(WS): Sl, k1, purl to last 2 sts, k2

Repeat these 2 rows for the 12 row repeat…this makes 2 garter stitches on each edge of the scarf with the pattern in the middle. (The pattern is a repeat of 26 sts.)

After 18 repeats of the pattern (with my gauge, I was able to do 18, you might have less or more), instead of purling the last WS row, knit it instead. Then knit 2 more rows.

Bind off on the WS row. Block gently.

Hope this helps :)
