This was a really interesting and fun project - the Malabrigo yarn made the hat SUPER SUPER soft and comfortable. I love how it feels on my head.

I think that you’d be able to make this size hat using only 1 skein of yarn if you make the braids/tassels shorter. I was able to make the entire hat with one skein until the very end…and I think that the braids might be a bit too long for me.

I’d totally make this hat again and I was very happy with how the pattern offers 4 sizes - enough for your whole family.

The only problem I had was reading the cable charts. I ended up writing them out (like the earflap directions were written out) and I found that I was able to progress much faster than I had using just the charts.
