Really liked the look of this sweater and thought it would make good use of the yarn in my stash. Decided to make it in the Medium because the Plymouth yarn used tends to shrink after first wash. The yarn is beautifully soft, but my hands are covered in dye each time I knit - don’t like this, but know the yarn will produce a nice garment when finally washed.
Update: 8th July - Front is complete and I’ve started on back punch hole lace section. The pattern is clearly written and easy to understand and follow. No modifications made so far. The yarn colour does not look quite right in the photographs - it’s a dark denim, shown best in the bottom picture of initial cast on and ribbing.
Update: 3rd September - I’ve finished!! Garment currently being blocked and really hoping the dye sets on the second wash as my fingernails are currently blue (and not in a good way).
Modified pattern by knitting long sleeves, but otherwise stuck to the pattern as written.
Did the 3-needle bind off inside out (by accident), but it works well with the look of the i-cord bind off. I would highly recommend the i-cord bind off to finish the neckline if you have sufficient yarn - it really gives a nice touch.
Update: 4th September - Really happy with the way this sweater turned out. It shrank a massive 7cm (2.5”) in the blocking process, but ended up a good length on me and sleeves are bracelet length. Did not shrink in width, so it has oodles of ease.
A new favourite!
