Clever pattern depicts the process that water goes through in weather cycles. The patterns/charts are simpler to knit than they appear in the finished socks, so these knit up very quickly.

My changes:

• I used my own toe, similar but nicer-looking than a Turkish cast-on.
• Gusset/flap heels are ill-fitting and don’t hug the feet prettily, in my experience, so I used one of my short-row heel designs, (soon-to-be-published), and eliminated the patterning on the heel flap.
• The pattern calls for a picot cuff, which is intended to represent clouds, but while I love the picot hem on other garments for hems, etc., I find them to be uncomfortable on a cuff, as they are sewn or knitted (preferably) in, but add double the bulk, and the hemmed edge is usually constrictive. I knit a k2, p1 cuff, adding a stitch to make the math work.
• Cuff bind-off is the marvelous Jeny’s super-stretchy bind-off. Nothing else compares!

Yarn: Wow, do I love this yarn!!! It’s the perfect combination for all-weather socks, with a fiber content of 41% superwash wool, 39% cotton, 13% nylon, and 7% polyester. The yarn has an incredible amount of stretch/boing, so these socks knit up more like commercial pairs as far as lots of stretch-that-returns-to-size fabric. I will definitely be making more summer socks with this yarn!
