Notes

Baby’s first knit off my needles. Sized perfectly for a car seat, I think, and super light for cool summer evenings.

The blanket was a slog. I used a 6mm needle with thin DK weight yarn. The Caron Simply Soft was, as the label claimed, super soft, but it was also slightly nubbly… it just seemed difficult to work with and I kept losing my place in the pattern and had a hard time finding it back. My mom was an invaluable resource as I worked through it. Especially when my dogs got a hold of it (this has become a theme) and ripped out and destroyed the needles. I wouldn’t have gotten it done without her.

Because it was such a slog, I stopped after 7 repeats instead of the 9 the pattern called for, and I think it’s still plenty large enough for a tiny baby.

Now it’s off the needles, and I am terribly happy with it! I hope that, now that it’s out of the way, I can find a little knitting mojo back in time to make lots of little baby things, and maybe even a knit or two for myself.
