Notes

I am seriously enjoying this knit, and cranked it out until I got to the heel, which started out a bit awkwardly until I got all my stitches arranged, and now am almost done with sock #1 (1/1/2012)
I finished sock #1, and it is really cute, and I can wear it, but it’s a bit loose in the instep. I knitted the foot to the same length I normally do, but this heel construction needs a bit of extra foot length to sit correctly, hence the loose instep. Otherwise, I love them and will knit them again in the future. On to sock #2.

OK, all done. These socks were a blast to knit, and really cute, but I’m not thrilled with how the instep sits. Very comfortable though.

Hint: if you do the heels on DPNs, arrange the stitches so that the needles meet where the stitch markers would be, and have markers where the round starts and the heel stitches end. It takes a lot of thinking out of it. Also, there are some mistakes in the toe decrease instructions.
