The color on the eyelet detail photos is much more accurate than on the finished blanket photos.
5/3: I am on the third skein. I’m almost at 11 yo rows, but I think I’m going to have to add 2-4 to make the blanket a little more square.
4/20: I decided to keep going with the US 10 needles. I’m through one skein of yarn and have started on the second.
4/17: I finished the first 4 yarnover rows (and the first skein of yarn) and the eyelets are looking kind of stretched out. The stitches near the eyelets on subsequent rows almost look like laddering. I don’t know whether blocking will fix this. So I decided to try knitting the second skein for a while (not connected to the first) on size 10 needles. I’m not ripping out the yarn on the size 11 needles until I’m sure it’s better on US 10, though. In fact, I may block the US 10 work on the needles just to see what happens. I only have a month before I’d like to be done with this blanket, and I know the ruffle rows are going to take longer, but I really want this to look as nice as possible. I think I’ll cast-on 120 for the US 10 blanket, since I was getting gauge on the size 11 needles.
I am getting gauge with the recommended needle size, but I can’t decide if I should drop down to 10.5 or 10 (US) needles. The stitches do seem a little big, but I don’t want to affect the drape or softness of this yarn.
