This is STILL fitting him at nearly 2 years old. He loves this hat, and it’s really one of the only hats he will wear.

Nice and solid and warm. I’ll add i-cord if he pulls it off a lot, but I like how the flaps look without ties.

I held my yarn double to get closer to gauge. I also wanted the earflaps to be bigger, and more like in the picture in the book, so I increased until they were 15 stitches across, then knit 11 rows. I knit 17 stitches between the ear flaps on each side (17 + 17 + 30 for the earflaps = 64 cast on).
