Notes

The whole time I was knitting this, I thought it would be too small and not slouchy, but I was wrong. First, 76 cast-on stitches seemed like a small number for my 21.75” head, but since this is ribbing and since sometimes my hats end up too big I went with that number, as suggested. The ribbing seemed too tight, but stretched after I tried it on a few times and ended up being the perfect size. It didn’t look like it was going to be slouchy, either, but it was.

I tried using VeganKnitting’s decreases to mimic the pattern, but there didn’t seem to be the right number of stitches in the first row of decreases. I made do and modified them a little as I went along. EDIT -- She’s fixed them now, though, so you should use them!

Rows of decreases:

  1. sl1 k2 psso, p2 - repeat
  2. k2, p2 to end
  3. k2, p2tog - repeat
  4. k2, p1 to end
  5. sl1, k1, psso, p1 - repeat
  6. k1, p1 to end
  7. sl1, k1, psso to end

Mohair is a bear to rip out. I had to be extra careful when knitting this baby.
