~~~~~FROM INSTAGRAM_ALONG_ERS GROUP:~~~~~
The pattern calls for 650 yards of DK weight yarn. Julie says, “Merino, alpaca and blends with manmade fibers are recommended; cottons, silk,bamboo and other fibres with drape are not recommended,” so that’s a good thing to keep in mind.
Stockholm scarf notes from ravelry:
10 circular needle; 30” cord from my chiao goo interchangeable set. The pattern called for a 60” length--I don’t understand how you would do that. Nonetheless, after casting on, the 30” is perfect.
Cast on:
I followed the suggestions in the pattern comments and cast on 252 stitches.
4 rows in the round:
I: K1 P1 K2 P3
II: K1 P1 K1 YO K1 SL1 P2 (PASS OVER)
III: K1 P1 K3 P2
IV: K1 P1 SL1 K2 (PASS OVER) P1 YO P1
Bind off:
Next time I will definitely increase the needle size to 10.5 instead of using size 10.
Lovely pattern - thanks so much! I’m editing my previous comment to note that if knitting in the round, Row 1 should be Row 3, and vice versa (thanks Julie!)
For those wondering about the slipped stitch held in front or back… Here is my answer (if someone comes up with something else, please let me know…)
Since this scarf is meant to be fully reversible, I would suggest you hold the yarn where it is when you are done with the stitch prior to the slip. That means in Row 2, hold in the back and in row 4, hold it in the front. The alternating means that your scarf will be truly identical on both sides.
Also, for those of you knitting in the round, I suggest casting on only 252 stitches, following only the instructions within the stars and inverting rows 1 and 3. It may sounds strange like this but it works beautifully.
That means Cast on 252:
I: K1 P1 K2 P3
II: K1 P1 K1 YO K1 SL1 P2 (PASS OVER)
III: K1 P1 K3 P2
IV: K1 P1 SL1 K2 (PASS OVER) P1 YO P1”
~~~~~~~~~~MY NOTES:~~~~~~~~~~
*10/1:* Casted on 252 stitches as pattern notes state.
*10/2:* Pattern Note:
For row 2: after K1 YO K1, I am slipping the next stitch knitwise with yarn in back.
For row 4: after K1 P1, I am slipping the next stitch purlwise with yarn in front.
*10/9* Just finished 5th repeat of the pattern. Coming along nicely. Yarn and needle size are perfect.
