Made about 20 of these (seriously) for Christmas 2006. Used quite a few different snowflake patterns so as not to get too tired of making them.

Bought unfinished dollar store frames and stained them in “walnut”.

Lightly starched snowflakes with spray starch.

Wrapped a sturdy piece of cardboard with black poly “silk” fabric and mounted the snowflake using a needle and some white sewing thread (make “pilot holes” with a pin so the needle goes through the cardboard easily).

Everyone was impressed with these gifts and I was pretty pleased that each one came out to about $2 a piece!
