Bought this pretty yarn in the sales and was waiting for the right project to show it off and this is it!

Very easy pattern but so effective, just knit stitches and yarnovers and only took a single skein. The pattern really brings out the colours of multi yarn, which can easily become muddy, particularly when the colour changes are so close together in the yarn.

The wool/acrylic mix blocks out well, even though it is only 25% wool, which is great because although the pattern is lovely, I think defining the dropped loops make it even better (and the scarf gets longer!). First photo is unblocked, second and third blocked. I just used a steam iron, gave each section a quick burst of steam and then when it had relaxed, gently stretched and smoothed it into shape. Took just five minutes.

It can be knitted in any weight of yarn, so now I can go out and buy all that lovely sock yarn, even though I can’t knit socks, and make loads of these stunning scarves…
