Since I had extra yarn (a 430 yd skein) I added on to the shawl as follows:

Picot bind off.

I had enough yarn left that I easily could have done another 4 rows. I tend to always have a lot of extra yarn on projects though so keep in mind ymmv.

Holy cow did this yarn BLEED! I’ve never seen anything like it. When I received it (as part of monthly sock yarn club) it stank to high heaven of a gross combination of vinegar and fish. Thankfully that aired out over a couple of years and I was able to knit it with it just fine. The dye didn’t come off on my hands while knitting so I think it should be just fine to wear. I’ll just warn my cousin not to wear it in the rain!
