Found the yarn in the clearance bin and love the color. Since the Autumn Vest is one of the store samples at the knitting garage which I frequently borrow when I am too cold, I figured this is the perfect next TV and/ or chatting project.
I do want to add buttons, possibly as in the shawl collard vest.
I cast on using the cable cast-on on #13 needles. It looked tighter than I wanted it so I switched to #15’s.
I hope I have enough yarn as there is no more than these five balls at the shop.
By changing the needle size this is becoming much bigger. So far I knitted about 10“ and am on my second ball of yarn. I wonder if I should rip it out and work the smaller size….I am thinking to continue to the armholes and then decide…also changed back to #13‘s which means I really only used the bigger needles for about 6“ at my hip

11.12. Instead of binding off I kept the stitches live and did a three-needle-bind off across the shoulders.
I did the same with the neck stitches; kept them live instead of picking them up again later.

11.18. Finished. Just want to add a zipper. And pockets; I want to add pockets, too.
